Hey guys. After much discussion we've decided to make some changes to Forlarren. We have decided to bump all types of Forlarren to T3 as well as restrict them to the extent a player may only have 1. Obviously this does not extend to our current players who have more then one Forlarren but they should be made aware if they wish to have another Forlarren they will have to retire their existing Forlarren characters.
The reason we are doing this is because we feel having them at T2 does not represent how rare Forlarren are in our Lore and the staff being cocnerned at some of the quailty of some of the half demon RP not matching up to the vision of what they are supposed to be. Forlarren are supposed be men and women trapped between two worlds, demonic and mortal. Their demonic side is constantly at odds with their mortal side, tempting them to join the Legion for greater power. In this respect they are very similar to Demon Hunters, only in this case they where forced into this life rather then making a sacrifice.
Players should also be aware, and while this may not be happening for awhile, the staff is currently considering(Forlarren included) that at the end of Legion we will be moving all demons up to T4 due to the ending of Legion and how fractured it has become. This is NOT a final decision but only something the staff is currently speaking about and mulling over. We will let players know our final decision when the day comes.
Hey guys, we're addressing this due to an interest of none-Illidari Demon Hunters being able to rp in WoD. They will be able to come over to Draenor however there are a few caveats to this:
-First of all Demon hunters would not be allowed to join with the Alliance and Horde officially as that would take away from the special moment in Legion when they officially join the Alliance and Horde.
-Secondly the Horde Demon Hunters could 'help' the Horde, but this would be under the conditions that they could only help fighting demons, and not the Iron Horde. And they would have to leave immediately after dealing with the threat. They are not here to socialise, but to help kill demons and then leave. Additionally you will need to speak with the commanders both OOCly and ICly if the Horde Demon Hunters could help the Horde as a whole first. To be clear you can join main storyline events on your Demon Hunters as long as the main story pertains to demons.
-Thirdly Alliance Demon Hunters will not be able to help the Alliance at all due to Cordana and her Warden's presence they will need to do their own thing on Draenor following their own storyline. Cordana would not allow Demon Hunters to help the Alliance in any capacity. You could not join the main storyline at all, until patch 6.2 but you can come up with your own custom storylines on Draenor.
Hey guys, just wanted to take a moment to talk about Custom Lore Weapons that may drop from Bosses after a main event.
Recently some took issue with the fact that Ner'zhul's staff was given out unexpectedly and with no warning or hint. To some it was made worse it was given to a staff member. Normally when a lore item drops from a boss, the staff does not heavily advertise to avoid a situation where people just make or force their characters into positions to try and get it. We also try to consider all options and mostly choose people who where active during the content and fit the weapon. It's also generally assumed players know when big weapons are going out, as with the Thunder King's Armaments or Garrosh's loot table.
Unfortunately, that kinda fell through because the Staff of Souls is a custom weapon and not on any loot table so players didn't know to bring a character who they felt was deserving to any of the zone events for them to try and atleast get into the contention.
Next time the staff will be alot more cognizant of custom lore items and make sure to try and inform the player base in some way they are going to be available.
Hey guys, I just wanted to make this announcement to alleviate any confusion about the timelines, our stance on AU Draenei shamans and player buildings on Draenor.
Timeline Secret
Now I understand this has been causing a lot of confusion since it was said ICLY. Basically the idea is that the MU characters aren't supposed to reveal they are actually from the future yet. Nobody knows this an alternate timeline at the moment and nobody is sure what, if any effect this will have on Azeroth and Outland time stream wise. It could be dangerous, as we know time can be altered from all the threats from the cavern of time, but nothing major has happened yet. Its best to err on the side of caution and not risk fate, and a butterfly effect, by saying too much too soon. That and realize how much of a shock it would be to suddenly hear these people came from a future...a future in which this planet is torn apart, your race is left on the verge of extinction or enslaved to a demon curse. It'd cause a mass panic. That doesn't mean however, we won't be revealing it at all. At the end of the respective storylines this secret will end as the AU lore characters will figure out something is going on and the secret will be out. That is when it will be ok for MU and AU characters to speak about the differences, effects and etcs of the timelines.
AU Draenei Shaman
In AU Draenor, Draenei shaman simply don't exist yet. Infact, shamanism is recent to Draenei, having only learned it when they crashed to Azeroth. But this does not mean AU Draenei cannot learn shamanism/ They can be taught by other player characters and when we return to Azeroth, learn from the shamans in the Exodar and Earthen Ring.
Player Housing on Draenor
We know as Draenor opens up more, people will begin to request houses as well as stuff in and around the garrison. For AU characters they can request a house/home the same as people can in on Azeroth,. However, for MU characters, unless they plan to permanently retire to Draenor they will not be able to apply for a permanent house on the planet. As for player buildings in garrisons and around them, for T1 if people want tents we will oblige unless it begins to look like a tent city on the outside. When we upgrade however, we will not be allowing player buildings right outside the garrisons since they get in the way/accidentally destroyed when we do combat based events involving the garrison. As for buildings within the garrison, we would ask you make a CTS explaining what type of building you want what purpose it would serve. Keep in mind, even at max level space is limited so not every request will be granted and we may even close it off if garrisons get cluttered.
Hey guys. With the new lore in Legion concerning demon souls, how demonic regeneration works and what happens to a Demon Soul, we have decided it was time to make some changes how on a Forlarren, a half demon, with a demonic soul would work and whether they should be sanctioned or not. We are aware we do have some Forlarren with demonic souls already but many of them were made before we got the full picture on how demon souls work beyond regenerating in the nether.
In terms of regenerating, while Forlarren with demonic souls it should be kept in mind this does not give them a free pass in dieing. Its still something that would be immensely painful and for those not Legion aligned, a fate literally worse then death. The Legion can track down and capture souls within the Nether and torture them and any independent Forlarren would most likely be treated the same way a rogue demon would be. Its an incredible risk to die as a Forlarren with a demonic soul and one that should not be taken lightly. Also, like demons, a Forlarren who dies in the Nether or a Fel saturated planet is dead for good. Meaning there is no way to get resurrected as another character might be. They are gone forever. These concepts should be kept in mind if your have or are planning to have a Forlarren with a demonic soul.
In terms of sanctioning. Having a demonic soul means the Forlarren has given completely to their demonic side and is more close to a demon rather then a mortal. This would also include things like mutations, a much stronger fel aura and an addiction to fel magic. If viewed by another race, they may not look any more different then a demon. This why, at this time we will no longer be sanctioning Forlarren with demonic souls for the Horde or Alliance. For those who already sanctioned, we are offering you the chance to either retcon having a demonic soul and simply being a corrupted soul(meaning your soul is fel tainted but has not gone past the point of no return) or make a CTS to speak with the staff about your Forlarren character if you feel having a demonic soul is important to the basis of your character. We apologize for the issues this may cause for the few who have Forlarren with demonic souls but Legion has changed the rules on how demons work in many ways, sometimes twice in regards to Argus, and unfortunately Forlarren where created long before these concepts wherever created or known.
Finally, we are adding two new morphs to the list dealing with this.
T3:
Forlarren with Demon Soul(Legion Aligned)
T4:
Forlarren with Demon Soul(Independent)
Keep in mind this ONLY for Forlarren with demon souls. Every Forlarren has the ability to gain a demon soul but not all have to have one.
Thank you for reading this and again sorry for any inconvenience this may cause
Hey guys. As you know we are starting WoD this week. This means we a whole host of new things players will be able to do now, like morphs and ST stuff. We will also have some rules in place for independent demons and Legion aligned demons. This thread will consolidate these announcements for easier access to all players. If you have any questions feel free to make a CTS or ask in QfS in the discord.
Morphs
This is the morph list for the AU Draenor races. As you guys can see some AU races have moved down from their MU counterparts. Be sure to specify your if your morph is from AU or MU to prevent confusion.
STs can also apply to do storylines for the WoD intro event. These events should mostly be focused around the Blasted Lands as that is where the Iron Horde is focused on Azeroth. As for ST events in the Draenor zones, similar to Pandaria, we will be opening up side quests as the main story progressive for STs to use as templates. We will be having a dedicated thread for this and will be updating it much more frequently as Draenor has a lot to offer those who wish to do some of the side stuff.
Demons, both Legion and Independent
Demons will have a special place in WoD, both those who are and are not a part of the Legion. For Legion aligned demons, you will not be able to get to Draenor until we get to the half way point of Talador. Legion aligned players will be able to make events after that point, in relevant zones, where they can do small stuff in the Legion's bid to take over Draenor. For independent demons, they will find the first three zones, Frostfire, Shadowmoon and Gorgrond, easy to remain hidden. However, as we progress further along in the storyline and encountering more and more Legion members and actual deities of Draenor, they will find it harder and harder to keep disguised without the enemy purposely revealing them to cause chaos amoungest the heroes ranks. Once we get to the final part of Draenor, Tanaan Jungle, it will be impossible to keep hidden. We will allow independent demons to be able to form a contract with player OR NPC warlocks to be able to attend main events unhindered. We ask however, if you are deciding to use a NPC warlock, you come to the staff first and work out the details in a CTS. Keep in mind this contract will only let the demon attend Draenor main storyline/garrison missions/side quests unhindered. This will not allow a demon to go to faction capitals or towns on Azeroth.
Porting between Azeroth and Draenor
Another important thing to note is that for the Shadowmoon/Frostfire storylines, players who decide to come to Draenor will not be able to get back to Azeroth until those zone storylines are finished. Once those zone storylines are finished, Asharan will open up to players, allowing porting between the two worlds. This is to keep the theme of feeling trapped on a strange world for the first 2-3 months of the storyline. For characters who didn't or couldn't go to the intro event, we will allow them to say they tagged along during the initial invasion of Draenor as not to lock them out of the two starting zones.
The Draenor Side intro event
Finally, we come to the Draenor Side Intro event. This event itself is shaping up to be a really long event. Next Sunday, 12/3, I will be creating a thread to ask people if they want to do this event in 1 or 2 parts. This will be a poll in the discussion part of the forums. I really want people to think about this. A 1 part event will include everything from the Draenor side intro. From going through the Dark Portal to setting the garrisons while a 2 part event will stop midway and then keep going the next day until we reach the garrisons. So think very hard on how long do you want the event to be. If it is indeed a 2 part event, it will be a Friday and Saturday event.
Garrosh Hellscream escaped justice for the crimes he commited during his regin as Warchief over the Horde. Aided by a rogue bronze dragon, Hellscream has vanished off the face of Azeroth. Despite all attempts by the various factions of Azeroth, no trace of him has been found. Many questions have been raised to where have may have gone. However, the correct question be to when
Having traveled far back into the past, Garrosh has found himself in the land of Draenor. Before the planet was shattered into Outland, it was a vibrant and savage place. Its from here he plots his ultimate revenge against the heroes that stopped him. Meeting his father, Grommash Hellscream, Garrosh has convinced the orcs of this Draenor to reject Gul'dan's gift of fel blood. Instead he has giving him to the secrets to much of the technology seen during the Siege of Orgrimmar and promised them a united Horde could find new lands to conquer.
Grommash and many of the other Warlords of the various clans...have agreed. After killing Mannaroth and capturing Gul'dan, this new Iron Horde turns to Azeroth....
In the present
Unknown to the war wear heroes of the world, The Dark Portal has suddenly turned red. Contact from both Nethergarde Keep and Dreadmaul Post have ceased. Scouts who attempt to investigate whats going on never return. Such drastic changes have eveyrone concerned, especially in a land that has been used a demonic invasion point before. Kirin Tor Council member and former Son of Lothar, Archmage Khadgar is starting to seek out heroes to help him investigate what exactly has happened....
Warlords of Draenor Intro Events
December 1st: The Iron Tide 1: Nethergarde Keep
December 2nd: The Iron Tide 2: Dreadmaul Hold
December 9th: The Iron Tide Finale: Back to Blackrock
January 2018: Into the Dark Portal.
Keep an eye on the forums in the following days for announcements regarding the new WoD Morph List and ST events during the Iron Tide event chain!
We are opening alternate universe draenor characters to be able to be CTS'd. Alternate Universe Characters are restricted to only the races from Draenor during the time period we are in.
Guidelines and things to consider when making the CTS request to play an alternate:
You only need to make a CTS for any character native to AU Draenor if:
You decide to take that AU character and bring them to MU Azeroth
You intend to have both AU/MU characters on Draenor
Or they were an alternate of a demon character.
Please make sure to note if your AU character is an Alternate version of an existing character. This can be Orcs, Draenei, or any other Draenor specific race such as Arakkoa or Ogres. (We will be posting the Draenor specific morphs in the tier list in the coming weeks)
Make sure to include if you want this AU character to become an active character intended to go to MU Azeroth.
We are not allowing MU and AU characters, that are the same person, to be actively in the same RP at all. However, we are fine if players want to have their AU and MU selves meet which can be written out in a story, in the RP/Storytime section of the forums. It is important to note, that we do not want these stories to progress either the AU or MU self characters in any significant way beyond emotional/personal progression.
Loot is case by case and in most cases may not transfer between AU and MU characters, so please note any pieces of loot the MU version has that you believe the AU version would have and explaining why. Anything that was gained from Azeroth-specific events/storylines cannot be had by the AU version.
If people want to play their AU alt-characters on the Main Universe Azeroth as a permanent character, then they are to replace the Main Universe ones. If you want to do this, and choose to do this, the MU version MUST die or be dead already.
Note: You do not need to replace you Main Universe character with their Alternate if you intend to keep your alternate on Draenor only.
If you intend to play an AU AND an MU character on Alternate Draenor, we strongly recommend having one be the main character through out Draenor, so as to avoid confusion, and messy situations where they're constantly in the same place. If for any reason you want to main both, please include that in the CTS with the how and why you intend to do this.
We are allowing players to role-play their Alternate Versions on Draenor as soon as the Iron Horde is about to Invade Azeroth (Sometimes in December), however certain areas are prohibited from being able to be RP'd in, such as, Talador. Draenei can RP in Shadowmoon. And Orcs can roleplay in Frostfire Ridge and parts of Nagrand. Both Orcs and Draenei have to avoid factional areas that are from WoD, because they haven’t been built yet.
NON-DRAENEI Characters from Draenor: We are going 30+ years in the past (because of this the races that do not have the extended life that the Draenei have, you must take into consideration the age of your MU/AU versions. (IE: An MU Orc who is 65, will have an AU self that is in his early 30s)
Arakkoa characters: AU Outcast Arakkoa cannot be seen until Talador; AU Awakened Arakkoa cannot be seen until after Spires.
Demon Characters: The lore implies because Demons souls are linked to the Nether that they transcend space timelines, so they will not be allowed to have an alternate version, with the exception of Eredar and Felsworn characters who MUST have become a demon in recent history (within the last couple of decades or so). This is due to the npc Socrethar/Othaar. Their past history would still exist if they were only in recent history transformed into a demon, as the longer they are a demon the more they transcend time.
Note: You MUST have an existing Eredar/Felsworn character that was approved by the staff in an application.
Finally make sure to include a brief description of your plans/intents with the character
A while ago, we opened the channel "Theorycrafting" on Discord, meant for specifically lore discussions with an implied "spoiler warning", an opt-in channel to which people could initially add themselves using a Discord command. Due to some issues with the bot, we disabled the command for some time.
However, the command has been re-enabled, and alongside it another has been added: !supporter
This command will add you to the Supporter group and give you access to the RL Support channel, which has been created following the results of the public poll, found here: https://wowfreedom-rp.com/f/Thread-Disco...fe-Channel
Usage guidelines are found inside both channels.
To join the Theorycrafter channel, use the command "!theorycrafter" in any of the available chat channels, though preferrably General.
To join the RL Support channel, use the command "!supporter" in any of the available chat channels, as above.
This is just a general reminder about event etiquette, when it comes to raid emotes and OOC chatter.
Firstly, please keep the chatter to a minimum in the Raid channel itself, since many DMs are known to use it to keep track of relevant emotes for the event itself. If you want to chat, please refer either to your Party chat, General chat in-game (if it's available), or Discord. Especially during larger events, excessive chatter in the Raid can be very disruptive and distracting for the DM.
Secondly, in the spirit of the first point, it's prudent to keep emote length down during larger and more fast-paced events for the sake of your DM and fellow players. We understand that sometimes circumstances require something more than a simple emote, and an emote split into two posts is generally not that disruptive, but if it starts going on for longer it can be difficult to keep up with during certain events. Furthermore, for those who do prefer to write longer emotes, it's warmly recommended that they get in the habit of preparing their emotes ahead of time to reduce the time taken between combat turns in an event, for instance. This isn't always possible and an emote may change with the tide of battle, and this is understandable, but the effort to be prepared can make considerable difference the rest of the time.
