History

Birth and toddler years

A member of the proud noble Gilnean house, House Nightingale, Gwynevere lived a rather privileged life. Her parents doted on her, with her being the youngest of her family, much to the chagrin of her siblings. Despite this however, Gwyn was a carefree individual, always finding the joy in life and never letting things get her down.

She was born to Lord Eadwulf Nightingale, and Lady Nerys Nightingale. They had three children. Emhyr being the oldest, Gwynevere's older brother, and the heir to the house. Lyneth was next, and is Gwynevere's older sister. Then there was Gwynevere.

Her family was:

Lord Eadwulf Nightingale (Father)

Lady Nerys Nightingale (Mother)

Emhyr Nightingale (Brother)

Lyneth Nightingale (Sister)

Childhood

As with her siblings, she too was taught everything befitting of a noble by the best tutor that the Nightingales had. Though she diligently studied and performed well, her favourite subject was not in any book. Rather, it was the sword. Lord Eadwulf was an accomplished knight in his time, and personally trained all his children. Lyneth was not as suited to the sword as both Emhyr and Gwynevere were, and Gwyn excelled here. Despite being the youngest, she consistently bested her two older siblings in duels. This further led to disdain they both had for her, but she was blind to it.

Teenage Years

Her tutorage and training continued into her teenage years, though she was also rather mischievous. She often got into trouble sneaking out late to play with her friends and hiding aboard ships to Gilneas, but was punished rather leniently. Soon she would learn of a wish of hers. Having grown up on an island left her rather sheltered, and she wanted to explore the world and meet all kinds of people. Learn new things. She hesitantly expressed this wish to her parents, but they were surprisingly very willing to allow her to go on this journey. This, once again, very much annoyed her siblings who were both expected to carry out the duties of nobility and the family. Though they saw silver lining, it meant they wouldn't see Gwynevere again for a long time.

On her 18th birthday, it was finally time for her to set off on this journey. A ship was prepared for her, and she was given sufficient allowance and supplies to last for a while before she needed to provide for herself. Her parents gave her important advice on how to handle herself in the outside world and promised to write her every so often, as long as she wrote back.
