Discord: Exile's Reach Prelude
Hello people of Freedom, I hope you are having a lovely day/night/<insert relevant time of day here>.
This weekend is technically a main event* weekend, although of a very different caliber than what is coming in the future. That's right, it's Exile's Reach time!
*This comes with a VERY IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER:
The event this weekend is the prelude to Exile's Reach - a mostly neutral storyline featuring an uncharted isle and (totally manageable) low-level dramatics. Characters will not actually be landing read: crashing on the island's shores until April. However, any and all characters which become involved in the storyline need to either be there for the event this weekend OR say that they were there for it. At that point, any character which boards the ships bound for Exile's Reach will be completely unable to contact or interact with the outside world until the storyline concludes in April with the Darkmaul Citadel mini-dungeon. These characters will, upon setting sail, be effectively cut off from the outside world in the same vein as the Wandering Isle intro or the very start of the Draenor main stories way back when on Freedom. Characters cannot enter midway through, unless by saying they retroactively boarded the ship this weekend.
This means that until Exile's Reach properly kicks off, the characters that board the ships will be locked into perpetual ship RP. If this is not for you, consider yourself warned. You're still welcome to make a character once the storyline properly starts and just say you've been on the ship the whole time. You can also do this option with pre-existing characters, under the presumption you haven't played them from this weekend to the start of the storyline - or that the character's interactions in the meantime are retconned. Again, no joining midway through without the explicit retroactive boarding of the ship(s).
I would highly recommend bringing a character who is either fresh, or that you are entirely comfortable having effectively locked off from the world for the time period mentioned above. This means they will miss basically the entirety of the mainline pre-BfA storylines, as this is intended to be an alternate start to BfA. You are also not locked to bringing only one character, so long as you're aware that however many characters you involve in this storyline must abide by the restrictions written above.
I'll see you in April for the proper start to Exile's Reach!
