I hate Wine

Being on a Mac, I gotta use Wine to run Freedom. Only problem is, Wine hates me. It hates me a lot. The only way I got the game to run at all with Wine is to use Winetricks and install DirectX 9 with some 10 and 11 dlls in there, .NET 2.0~4.0, set it to Windows 7, and make sure it auto detects graphics memory. Now the game actually loads and runs.



Decently.



Now I'm riddled down with graphics issues. Textures won't render, models sometimes flicker in and out of existence, and sometimes my UI will disappear or become so distorted I can't see it properly. I'm not sure what more I can do to make this game run without these big ol' blotches of green. So much greeeeeeeeeeen.

I've never been the best at using Wine. I'd sooner just have me a nice OS X client or a pre-bottled .exe so I don't have to hassle with it. I'm running on an iMac (21.5-inch, Late 2013), fully up to date with OS X El Capitan. I can run Guild Wars 2 on some pretty high graphics with no problem, so I know it's not my iMac's graphics. It has to be with the Wine emulation being derp and me being derp not fixing it right.

Apparently a lot of retail players also have problems with El Capitan. Paragon WoW, which runs WoD, says that OS X Yosemite (version lower) doesn't even work properly. Is not possible to dual-boot to Windows?

I used WineBottler and it worked fine, but, then again, I'm still on 10.8 (Mountain Lion). Maybe that has something to do with it.

I didn't partition the drive in this iMac, so no BootCamp to dual boot into Windows on this one. I'll try and get my Windows install running on my other computer. It's been a pain, but might just work in the end.
