CAS Error

Good morning,

I was able to log on yesterday but today I am getting the following error.

I've since downloaded the newest FreedomEssentials patch and cleared my cache. It may be related to networking, so I'm going to power down my router.

Edit: Restarting router had no effect. Nor restarting the PC (I did that first).
There’s enough guilt in the world without grabbing for more.
This is either because firewall or something else is blocking connection or your client was modified by something (the latter means you will have to redownload stuff).
Same issue, I was playing yesterday fine, but today I'm getting the same error as you are.

Edit: Just saw the announcement that it's an issue affecting multiple people.
I think we've narrowed it down to a core update in the background. Here is a link for future reference.

Sorry for a late post yet I'm still curious as to how to fix the problem. The current connection guide seems outdated if it gives us the client that we no longer need and I followed everything it said correctly.

The specific CAS error issue described in this thread is already fixed and should be part of FreedomEssentialsPatch, which must be applied as per WoD connection guide.
Hmm, I've no idea. I don't think my firewall is blocking it either yet I'm not fully sure how to tell. I put the patch in correctly however the problem still occurs. I'm also free to discus this in private if you don't wish to clutter this topic. Whenever I first entered the patch it never said anything about overwriting things (yet this is also my first time dl'ing anything from here so maybe that's why).

Edit: I didn't notice the other pinned topic so I'm looking through that to find a solution.

Edit 2: Fixed! I didn't uncheck the "Read Only" part. My bad xD You can delete these posts if you wish. Thanks <E>Smile</E> My file sizes are different from those described in the topic but if it works it works lol
