As the heroes prepare to battle the forces of the Firelord, other events have begun to spin in motion since the recovery of Wyrmrest Temple from the Twilights hammer. Here is a small list of what has occurred in the gap between then and now.
The five headed monster Chromatus was defeated and thrown off the Temple during the final battle. However, his body could not be destroyed by any means the Aspects tried. His body has been locked away in an arcane prison to prevent any evil force of ever using him again.
A new aspect of magic has been chosen and it is the blue dragon Kalecgos. Beating out the more extreme Arygos, the road to Aspecthood was not easy. Twilight Dragons once again attacked the Nexus in a bid to kill the dragon. The plot failed when two Blue drakes stopped the attack and saved Kalec from an untimely death. Sadly one of the drakes, Tarecgosa, sacrificed her life to save Kalec’s. Arygos was revealed to be behind these attacks and fled before justice could be served. He is rumored to have been tortured and killed by Deathwing…
The Avengers of Hyjal, led by Malfurion Stormrage, stormed into the Firelands to fight a bitter war on the Molten Front. While many lives were lost, they have pushed into The Fire Lord’s last bastion of power, seeking to end him once and for all. Rumor has it that the aforementioned Blue Drake has been aiding the Avengers of Hyjal and gathering some sorts of material for the Aspect of Magic. What exactly it is, is unknown.
During this time, the shaman Thrall had his essence broken by the traitor and new flame druid Staghelm. Spreading his essence across the elemental planes, Staghelm attempted to ensure Thrall would never be whole again. However, his lover Aggra traveled to each plane and endured harsh trials in putting the former warchief back together. Through strength of will and love for Thrall, Aggra succeeded and the two were married, a bright spot in what has been a dim time for all of Azeroth.
Reports of a Alliance and Horde skirmish in Ashenvale flow through the both faction’s cities. They state a battle was fought between Varian, the worgen, and the the Night Elves versus Garrosh, a legion of his loyal Ko’kron, enslaved Mangataur from Northrend and even proto-drakes. No report states who actually won the battle, if this is true, but Horde forces were seen quickly moving back into the Barrens, with a injured Garrosh at the forefront.
Both sides have gained old allies as the final battle of Deathwing draws near. A rebellion has occurred within the Scarlet Crusade, ousting High Inquisitor Whitemane. A paladin only known as Joseph the Awakened has claimed leadership of the beleaguered Scarlets and surprisingly has made overtures to the Alliance. Claiming he plans to remake the Crusade into what Alexandros Mograine has originally envisioned, the Alliance was hesitant at first but with the war with the Horde looking likely to restart, they created a pact with him, officially bringing the Scarlet’s back into the Alliance fold and giving the Alliance a small foothold in Tyr’s Hand. While the Argent Crusuade quietly protested, and the Ebon Knights very loudly protested, the move was met with some measure of satisfaction by human members of the Alliance, as they have grown frustrated with the lack of progress against the Forsaken and the Argents and Ebons hesitant attitude to deal with them.
It is said, Whitemane survived the rebellion and took a force of loyalists in an attempt to reclaim the monastery. However, Argent scouts in the plaguelands have reported finding the caravan completely destroyed, all who journeyed with it dead, including Whitemane. They also reported strange purple fires that glowed around the site of the killings. So far no one has claimed any credit for the deed.
Turn about is fair play as the Horde have gained new territory and a old clan back in its fold. The Blackrock clan civil war has ended and Chieftain Malkorok now leads the group. Realizing that he stood no chance against the encroaching forces of Redridge, the chieftain disbanded the Dark Horde and spoke with Garrosh. Seeing it as a chance to get back at Stormwind for Tyr’s Hand, Garrosh pardoned all the Blackrock Orcs under Malkorok’s banner and let them join the Horde. Now reinforced by supplies and fresh Horde troops, Blackrock Mountain is once again in Orcish Hands. The outcry was immediate, with Kingdom of Redridge being forced to curtail expansion and Stormwind now directly threatened in the line of fire of the Horde. In the Horde itself, older members and those apart of the Old Horde, question Garrosh’s decision to allow the Blackrock’s in. They still remember when Blackhand led them to commit horrific acts of brutality and genocide and do not think the the clan has changed at all over the years. Younger members welcome the news, as they see this as preparations for the war restarting and finally knocking the Alliance down a peg or two. It is not uncommon to see both sides argue and even brawl over the issue in Horde taverns. No matter the case, The Burning Steppes is now contested zone as the world moves ever closer to full scale war once again.
Stormwind forces recently returned from deployment from Silithus. The exact details of the operations are unknown but many soldiers seemed to have died and a few returning have even been removed from the army or stripped of rank and demoted. A suicide had also been reported coming from one of soldiers in the ranks of those that fought but no one knows exactly why they killed themselves. Rumors also circulated that a well known noble had also ventured with the Stormwind Forces and has not been seen since. They also say her money has been divided up among others on the Noble Council but no reason is being given to why this happened.
Grand Magister Rommath has returned to his seat of power within Silvermoon City. The Former Grand Magister , Keldaron, stepped down after Rommath's return. No one know where Rommath was and what he has been doing all these years but rumors state he was looking into a matter for Regeant Lord Lor'themar Theron.
