Magic would play a part in Alassgos' life, even before birth. The trenches of the Nexus housed lines of eggs, arcane energy surging through them to bolster the hatching process. Alassgos was one such egg, hatching before his time with the rest of his clutch-mates. Early life was not such an excitement for the newly-named whelp. Many of the other whelps preferred to play regularly. There's no doubt Alassgos enjoyed a spontaneous time of play, but most of his days, weeks and months were spent taking an odd attraction to books and scrolls. Since his first book describing the other regions of Northrend, Alassgos took a natural habit in hoarding anything he could find with words written on it. Buried deep in the snow, hidden in trees or brushes. Trinkets with random names engraved into their surface, small blades with words written in a different language, burnt, tattered and soggy books, torn and fresh scrolls. All found their place on a ugly heap of trash over the year. Typical things like hunting and fighting came to him in time. One particular clutch-mate, Axilmeus, took a particular liking to Alassgos, spending most of their late whelp-hood together.
Twenty cold years would pass, Alassgos growing into a typical drake of his flight, though much less active. As his body grew, so did his hoard, Alassgos now claiming an ancient, small run-down ruined tower in a remote area as his 'lair'. He had spent years simply sitting and sleeping upon a massive bed of books, scroll and parchments. Some books he read more than thrice, about long-past events, about personal adventures, about other races, other dragons. What he took most prized possession of was those scrolls describing various magic's. Being of the blue flight, he typically held a naturally affinity to magic, teaching himself to cast simple arcane missiles and barrages, though finding little use to them them. He had grown extremely territorial in his tiny tower, and woe to any that entered without word. Even his closest friend Axilmeus suffered an arcane missile greeting him as warning to simply ask before entering.
