Sir Ulysses of Vintonshire is a Knight of the Order of the Thorne, and is played by 33Vikings. He wields the blade 'Lady Verdant', forged by the man himself with the heart of a fallen ancient of war. Within the Order of the Thorne, he is a member of the Inner Circle, privy to the secrets and less-known rituals of the Order.
He is a firm defender of the Old Ways, as well as the lands of Gilneas. He also feels a strong kinship to other Half-Orcs, whether they be members of the Alliance, of the Horde or neither. Lastly, he has an unquenchable desire to know his father. These three traits have led him to strange lands and stranger people since the Wall fell.
The story of Ulysses begins, in earnest, with his mother. She had been born and raised within Gilneas, but that had not been enough for her. Against the pleadings of her parents, she struck out to the south and lived in Stormwind. The timing could not be more unfortunate, as it was not long after that the Orcish Horde came out of the portal and ravaged the southern Kingdom. And although his mother managed to survive, she was not whole. Eight months after her return, Ulysses was birthed behind the walls of Castle Rose.
His first years were not the most pleasant, understandably. His mother wanted little and less to do with him, and much of his parenting was done either by his grandfather or a wet nurse within the castle. As he grew older, the Horde moved north, continuing it's war against the Human kingdoms. In a night fraught with rage and terror, she stormed off. The next morning, she was found by some Knights of the Thorne, hung from the branch of an oak tree. From that point on, he was raised by his grandfather, an old Knight by the name of David Sterling. He was taught to be a squire, and everything he would need to one day be a Knight.
