So I have tried all of the other three options in the connection guide and am down to the last one, the 29 part download. I've downloaded all the files, moved all those files to the same folder, and extracted the first file to that folder as per the instructions, but where do you go from there?

Sorry Geo, I didn't see this until now!
With 7zip, when you select to extract the first file, it should extract everything. That's how a multi-file extraction will normally work. Okay I did do it correctly then...
Just can't see an .exe after doing that is what I'm confused about. I haven't been a computer person for a good year or two so I only halfway know what I'm doing.
